This is technically my first motorcycle, but im very familiar with the balance and steering issues required (i know its a different ballgame entirely, but DH mountain bike racer) I want a cruiser. no crotch rockets. cant afford a Harley, as much as id like one. so….title gives the main points im looking for. Brand, model, engine size, anything else you can think of…….talk to me people.

Do tell me the difference between these two models please. I am looking to buy one of these two but I know nothing about the bikes. I’m looking to educate myself beforehand. I have never ridden a bike but I am going to take a course in September. How do they handle? Pro’s and con’s of both? I’ve searched the Harley site for info but I don’t know what most of the lingo means so if you know of a website which explains the technical stuff that’d be great too. Rake? What the heck is that? Wide back tire vs standard size? How much is insurance? Expensive upkeep? Thanks a bunch.

also, what is the process of getting certified, and where to get training. i’m not totally rich though, haha…so what bikes are fast, but not too fast and that’s a sport model bike, not like the harley Davidson type of models. i live around the east bay, in the bay area of cali. help? and how much? plus my parents are totally against this…haha…

I’m looking at buying the v-rod muscle but am willing to wait a few months if the model year ends soon, to see what the 2010 v-rod looks like as well as a possible discount on the v-rod purchase. Guys, I love the US of A and my heart is set on a Harley. Yes they are expensive, big deal. I’m a hardworking man, I expect taxes to go up soon for obvious reasons but I will ride and feel the freedom that this country offers for myself on a Harley-Davidson this summer. So, if you know when the model year ends or any relative information that’d be great. From what I’ve gathered, the new models come out around every May (but not positive). Thanks for everything guys.
Oh, and I’m not getting a crotch rocket no matter how many times you try to tell me they’re better. For 3k+ a year on insurance I might as well buy a Shelby Mustang GT. Not to mention the riding position which is more or less the receiving end of “doggy style.”

Please don’t respond with the whole “Harley’s suck, buy a sport bike” crap. I got rid of my Ducati last year, I’m not really wanting another impractical rocket…
I’m 5’5 so I’m not really looking for a huge harley either…

I’m on the younger end of the rider spectrum fully trained I ride a heavy bike currently but it’s not a Harley. I’ve done the dealer thing and have some questions on the models and how they might be looked upon amongst younger 21-34 yr old riders.
First off sportsters I’d only go 1200. The nightster looks great what’s the truth about this model? Will I get laughed at if I show up Sturgis on this..
What about the dyna models? I like the new 2008 Fat Bob, what’s the skinny on this model?
Second I know it’s pricey but what about the VROD? Any rider insight on this one.
Finally I was on HarleyDavidson.com and saw for 2008 they’ve got a new softail model “The Rocker” it looks pretty good has anyone heard anything on this one?
