Pilots: local wind speeds online?

Where can I get a map of local wind speeds and direction online? I want to get detailed maps if I can. This is so I can determine the proper locations to fly various RC planes. I have some that can take no wind, some that need less than 10mph, some that can handle 20mph… so I need accurate speeds that are current. This is in Lakewood, CO and the wind speeds change by the hour. The obvious weather sites don’t seem to have what I need. I checked Weather.com,local news sites and NOAA, and NCAR. All I can get is the readings from Buckley AFB, DIA, and Jeffco Airport, which are all miles from here. Is that as accurate as it can get?
If I’m at the area already I can estimate wind by looking at trees, flags, and whatever, but yeah I’d like to know before I get there… so I can pick whether to fly at this park or the one across town or if it’s best to stay home or whatever…

what is better gas rc cars or electric?

i just recived my gas rc car and its already giving me a headache. I took it to the local hobby store to have it broken in and set up, but i got home and was running it for maybe a half hour and the white plastic piece that connects from the servo to the throttle already broke off, im sure its a couple dollar piece but wtf. And can i run a hose on it to keep it clean or no? Like i said i ran it for 30 mins and its filthy, how can i keep it clean without taking the whole thing apart everytime i run it grrrrrrrrr…….

RC Helicopter transmitter settings?

I went out and bought a $200 electric RC helicopter a while back. unfortunately, I went out and broke it an hour later. So, I went and spent another $50 for replacement parts, only to break it about 2 hours after that. As you can imagine, the helicopter has now been sitting broken in its box for a month or 2.

I don’t like to waste things, so I decided that I want to make an R/C boat or something out of the electrical parts. I’m pretty good with transmitters and receivers, and setting them up, but for the life of me I can’t figure this stupid thing out! The servos are mixed for the main rotor pitch, and the tail rotor is mixed as well to counteract the main rotor.

My question is, how can I set the transmitter and receiver to work just like an R/C plane, with each axis and switch only controlling one servo?

The helicopter is a Mystery EP Heli RTF CCPM (http://www.hobbypeople.net/index.php/hobby-people-mystery-ep-heli-rtf-ccpm-w-2-4g-radio.html). The transmitter is adjustable, with 12 switches behind a cover in the back. The helicopter itself only comes with a 20 page, not-very-informative manual, and I can’t find any using Google.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
