Rocket Launch question!!!?

A model rocket is launched straight upward with an initial speed of 40.0 m/s. It accelerates with a constant upward acceleration of 1.00 m/s2 until its engines stop at an altitude of 170 m.

a) What is the maximum height reached by the rocket?

(b) How long after lift-off does the rocket reach its maximum height?

(c) How long is the rocket in the air?

How can I make Potassium Nitrate (KNO3) at home.?

Contrary to what a lot of people will think I am not using this to make gun powder. I am a model rocket hobbyist and am interested in making sugar rockets. These require potassium nitrate which is getting harder to come by these days plus it’s cheaper this way. I found someone selling info on this but once again I would like to keep the cost of making this as low as possible. Thanks.

How To Make Small Sugar Rocket Nozzles (Part-1)

nichropulse.com This how-to tutorial is part-1 of a two part video. In this first part, I show you how I make consistent and accurate 3 inner-diameter rocket nozzles. I demonstrate two types: packed bentonite clay (or clay-grog) nozzles, and quick cement nozzles. I use some common tooling that is used extensively in the amateur rocketry and homemade firework community. In particular, I use the Perfect-Nozzle kit. Professional drawings and the source list are available at www.nichropulse.com for FREE. In Part-2, I will demonstrate how I load pressed sugar candy propellant in powder form. This motor can easily be loaded with other rocket propellants such as black powder propellant, APCP propellant, and casted R-candy propellant.

RC Plane flyover at the US Space Center/Space Camp

I flew my RC plane over the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. I flew around the Saturn V, Saturn I, and the Space Shot ride. On the east side is the OV-098 Space Shuttle Orbiter Pathfinder. At the front door of the museum is a Lockheed A-12 Oxcart. You can see the new facility nearing completion which will be the new home to the Saturn V that is laying on it’s side. Older aerial shots will show where the Saturn V was on the back side of the lot. I launched from across the road and flew through the video display on my end. Landing, I acquired visual of the plane and guided it into my hand. The aircraft is a Multiplex EasyStar from hobby-lobby.com The camera in a KX131 camera (uncased) from rangevideo.com The video link is 2.4GHz from rangevideo.com My video display and recorder is a Sony MiniDV watchman. The radio link needs a better receive antenna.

2-stage homemade model rocket question???

My friend and I built a 2-stage model rocket using estes engines. The C-6-0 is on bottom and the C-6-7 is stacked about one inch above the other. We are relying on the charge from the C-6-0 that normally sets the parachute off to ignite the C-6-7 just above it. Will it work????? any thoughts??

Motion problem!?

A 500g model rocket is resting horizontally at the top edge of a 40m high wall when it is accidentally bumped. The bump pushes it off the edge with a horizontal speed of 0.5m/s and at the same time causes the engine to ignite. When the engine fires, it exerts a constant 20N horizontal thrust away from the wall.

a) How far from the base of the wall does the rocket land?
b) Describe the trajectory of the rocket while it travels to the ground.

At what horizontal distance between the target and the rocket should you launch?

As a science fair project, you want to launch an 850 g model rocket straight up and hit a horizontally moving target as it passes 31 m above the launch point. The rocket engine provides a constant thrust of 15.0 N. The target is approaching at a speed of 15 m/s. At what horizontal distance between the target and the rocket should you launch?

I was trying to use some of the kinematic equations to figure this one out, but I’m always missing some part to the problem or at least that’s what I’m thinking. Got any ideas?

Can you answer my question on Flowmasters on my Prerunner 2005 Tacoma?

Casual talk with a stranger lead to him suggesting me getting Flowmasters on my Tacoma. Did a search on Youtube and a Tacoma with Flowmasters sounded like a rice rocket. Can someone confirm this to be true/false? Or does it sound like a traditional muscle car/truck?

What is the suggested Flowmaster model kit to use, and what is the pricing for installation+kit?

Are there any benefits for this new exhaust system (i.e. improved gas mileage, pwr)? Or is it all for looks?

Your help would be great!
