For model rocket hobbyists: has anyone launched liquid-fueled rockets?

I’m interested in model rockets as a hobby but launching with store-bought solid motors seems like so much kids stuff. I’m thinking that the fuel won’t be much trouble (kerosene, turpentine, maybe UDMH or straight hydrazine) but the oxidizer will be much trickier. I don’t want to handle cryogenic stuff (even though it’ll help pressurize the delivery lines) so I’ll stay away from LOX. Red or white fuming nitric acid sounds less hazardous. I’d like to hear from anyone who’s tried liquid fuels (even if it’s only on a test stand).

ROCKEt HeLp?

I’m fourteen and i’m really interested in rockets. I have been launching off the model rockets you can buy from hobby stores since i was 8. For a book report, i read the book October Sky and saw the movie. Now, i’m really interested in making my own rocket. Does anyone have any links or good book i can read to get to know enough about them to make a simple rocket? I’m really good at math and i’m a real good at science too. If you don’t have any links or any books that would really help, i can handle the equations, even if they’re for the nozzle. I was hoping i could make one out of metal…not just cardboard. Thanks in advance foryour help!

Water and Air Pressure powered Rocket?

we have to build one out of 2liter bottle
the goal is to make it go as high as possible.
how should design the Nose cones, and Fins
and stufff??

and i need to install parachute.
help…

IT’S NOT MODEL ROCKET
WE HAVE TO BUILD OUR OWN

I stink at science, can u help me with these problems i have on webassign.?

An ice sled powered by a rocket engine starts from rest on a large frozen lake and accelerates at +13.0 m/s2. At tl = 2.8 s the rocket engine is shut down and the sled moves with constant velocity v. At the 3800 m mark, the sled begins to accelerate at -7 m/s2. Find v to help answer the following questions.
(a) What is the final position of the sled when it comes to rest?
______m
(b) How long after it begins decelerating does it take for the sled to come to rest?
_______ s ————Next question———–

A model rocket is launched straight upward with an initial speed of 75.0 m/s. It accelerates with a constant upward acceleration of 2.0 m/s2 until its engines stop at an altitude of 150 m.
(a) What is the maximum height reached by the rocket?
_____m
(b) How long into the flight does the rocket reach maximum height?
______s
(c) How long is the rocket in the air?
______ s

I have a few questions about model rocketry and aerospace…trying to make a model rocket?

1) How is the thrust of a rocket engine is determined?
2) What is the thrust of an A8-3 rocket engine?
3) Why do satellites have different velocities depending on their altitude?

thanks…

When making a model rocket…?

What would happen to the drag of it if I use a high thrust engine?

Also, what would happen if i use a bigger engine than is reccomended?
