Potty training advice?

I have a 6 mos old SCWT. It is a she. I also have a 3 1/2 yr old boy. I am having the hardest time potty training her. I’ve tried crating her and then taking her outside on the hour and she won’t go. 5 mins later she goes in the house. I’ve tried to let my boy be a “role model” but she doesnt’ pay attention to him. It’s almost like she doesn’t know that it is okay to go outside because I’ll take her for walks and she won’t go. Any advice for getting her to go outside. I’m trying to be patient but it is kind of wearing thin. I also live in Pittsburgh so the weather at times can be a bit foul (rain, cold, ice, snow).
Thanks for any tidbits.

Is George Bush is a good place to speak about his own training ????

I think George Bush is doing a great job with who he is —as a role model, I think he needs help to show others —How help is given….Can you help me with this thinking ,,,,,yes ????

Should your degree teach you how to think, or should it train you for a role as a specialized professional?

My secondary educational background is European, and I remember distinctly being highly irritated at the North American notion of tertiary studies being about “teaching people how to think”.
In Europe, university is about being taught the nuts and bolts of ONE profession for which you train up and become a specialist.
Now, which should it be? Which model is better? Can you give me reasons?

Do good role models in Rock exist?

This question about Pete Wentz that rocket queen posted has got me thinking…

Whether I like it or not (and I’m definitely in the “not” category) Pete Wentz is a role model. Musicians are role models (again, like it or not). So if today’s youth were to be inspired by a musician, and were to pattern their own lives and behavior after them, who would be a good example for them to follow?

Very very funny?

1. Chicago Cubs outfielder Andre Dawson on being a role model: “I wan’ all dem kids to do what I do, to look up to me. I wan’ all the kids to copulate me.”

2. New Orleans Saint RB George Rogers when asked about the upcoming season: “I want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first.”

3. And, upon hearing Joe Jacobi of the ‘Skins say: “I’d run over my own mother to win the Super Bowl, “Matt Millen of the Raiders said: “To win, I’d run over Joe’s Mom, too.”

4. Torrin Polk, University of Houston receiver, on his coach, John Jenkins: “He treats us like men. He lets us wear earrings.”

5. Football commentator and former player Joe Theismann, 1996: “Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein.”

6. Senior basketball player at the University of Pittsburgh : “I’m going to graduate on time, no matter how long it takes.” (now that is beautiful)

7. Bill Peterson, a Florida State football coach: “You guys line up alphabetically by height.” And, “You guys pair up in groups of three, and then line up in a circle.”

8. Boxing promoter Dan Duva on Mike Tyson going to prison: “Why would anyone expect him to come out smarter? He went to prison for three years, not Princeton .”

9. Stu Grimson, Chicago Blackhawks left wing, explaining why he keeps a color photo of himself above his locker: “That’s so when I forget how to spell my name, I can still find my clothes.”

10. Lou Duva, veteran boxing trainer, on the Spartan training regime of heavyweight Andrew Golota: “He’s a guy who gets up at six o’clock in the morning regardless of what time it is.”

11. Chuck Nevitt , North Carolina State basketball player, explaining to Coach Jim Valvano why he appeared nervous at practice: “My sister’s expecting a baby, and I don’t know if I’m going to be an uncle or an aunt.” (I wonder if his IQ ever hit room temperature in January)

12. Frank Layden , Utah Jazz president, on a former player: “I told him, ‘Son, what is it with you? Is it ignorance or apathy?’ He said, ‘Coach,I don’t know and I don’t care.’”

13. Shelby Metcalf, basketball coach at Texas A&M , recounting what he told a player who received four F’s and one D: “Son, looks to me like you’re spending too much time on one subject.”

14. Amarillo High School and Oiler coach Bum Phillips when asked by Bob Costas why he takes his wife on all the road trips, Phillips responded: “Because she is too damn ugly to kiss good-bye.”

How do you I get through to my father?

My father is a typical Italian father. I guess he’s overprotective but I never even tried to find out (no boyfriends). The thing is, my father is not the greatest role model for a healthy lifestyle. He is overweight and still eats too much, probably still smokes (he tries to hide it but there are some really conspicuous clues sometimes) and, to top it all off, has Coronary Artery Disease. He always yells and calls us names even when we make simple mistakes more than once. My issue right now is the fact that we have a family restaurant in the city and I’ve been working there as a coatcheck in place of my aunt, who is actually pretty upset that I “stole” her job. I don’t want to work there anymore. I feel like it is so not worth it with the evil looks I get from my aunt and the high price for the train ticket I need to get there. I’ve cried in the coat check before because I feel so unappreciated and that I can never speak up. I feel like my father hates me.

Is USA government stupid or is it US citizens kept in dark as usual?

Pakistan is the country which created, trained, nurtured Al qaeda and taliban, Osama laden is pakistanis role model and everyone in the whole world including British , NATO, CIA agencied know that pakistan is providing shelter to Laden and Talibans but still US government wants Pakistan to work against their creation, I think US gov is stupid the surprising thing is US citizens are kept in the dark and they think pakis will help US against their Al qaeda men.
This is classic example of US gov and its citizens stupidity. LOL
